President, AIIMS Patna
It gives me immense pride and joy to share that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna continues to uphold its founding vision of “Health for All”, striving to ensure health inclusion across Bihar and neighboring regions. I feel truly grateful and honored to be part of this great institution, which has consistently worked to provide high-quality healthcare to underserved populations, even in the remotest areas, through initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojna, and other welfare programs.
Over the past thirteen years, AIIMS Patna has made remarkable progress in its three key areas: Medical Education, Teaching-Training, and Patient Care, along with innovative research. Offering advanced care at affordable costs has greatly benefited patients who previously had to travel to metropolitan cities, often facing long waiting periods for treatment.
Collaborations and Academic Excellence
Partnerships with leading national and international institutions through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have fostered a culture of innovation, learning, and knowledge exchange. My own leadership experience and insights gained through these collaborations have been invaluable, and I am confident that they will guide me in contributing effectively to this institution.
Our students now secure placements in prestigious postgraduate programs in India and abroad, while a wide range of intramural and extramural research projects continues to strengthen the Institute’s scientific environment. These experiences not only enhance academic growth but also inspire creativity, critical thinking, and innovation across our community.
Vision for the Future
Aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s mission of “Swasth Bharat, Samarth Bharat” (Healthy India, Empowered India), my plans for AIIMS Patna focus on making it an even greater institution for the people of Bihar by:
- Public-Centered Healthcare: Expanding outreach, strengthening community health services, and ensuring care that is accessible, equitable, and compassionate.
- Excellence in Research: Promoting scientific inquiry and applied research that addresses India’s unique health challenges.
- Medical Education with Care: Training healthcare leaders who are clinically skilled, socially responsible, and empathetic.
As we move forward in an era of Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Interdisciplinary Collaboration, AIIMS Patna remains grounded in its core values of “Seva, Shiksha, and Samarpan” (Service, Education, and Dedication). Together, faculty, students, staff, and stakeholders are building an institution that not only addresses today’s healthcare needs but is also prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
I feel deeply honored to be part of AIIMS Patna, and I am committed to working with faculty, students, staff, and stakeholders to further elevate the Institute—enhancing patient care, advancing research, and nurturing the next generation of medical professionals. AIIMS Patna will continue to stand as a beacon of hope, healing, and excellence, serving millions across Bihar and beyond.
