The official logo of AIIMS Patna aggregately presents the ethos of its establishment along with the core objective of the medical profession. It also reflects the Mission and Vision of the institution.

The Base wheel with 12 outer spikes of the logo symbolizes the constant and dynamic availability of healthcare facilities for all sections of society. The base color synchronizes with the soil of Bihar that reflects a deep engagement with the people of the state.

Twelve outer spikes render AIIMS Patna's attributes and aspirations for the healthcare facilities in Bihar and the whole region. These 12 aspirations are the ethos and reason of AIIMS Patna’s establishment.

The two Serpents entwined around the caduceus represent “Stalk of Hermes (Mercury)” of Greek mythology. Their intersection indicates endocrine glands or chakras topped by a round knob and flanked by wings.

Serpents denote the pineal gland and pituitary gland as both look alike. The stalk indicates the Spinal Column, and the knob represents the medulla. The wings at the top signify the two hemispheres of the brain. It resembles the wrinkled cross-section of the brain.

While two serpents - signify the two shades of human existence that physicians encounter - Life & Death, wings and rods symbolize medical staff and services.

Golden olive leaves are associated with sports & an active lifestyle. It represents enthusiasm, joy, and victory.

The Sanskrit motto establishes the principle goal and vision of AIIMS Patna. The last verse of Garuḍa Purāṇa (35.51) is illustrating the whole idea of 'well-being of all' which is the interim idea of the establishment of the institution.
