On behalf of all our faculty, staff, and students I welcome you to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna (AIIMS Patna). As dean of the institute, I’m extremely proud to be the academic head of an institute of national importance. AIIMS Patna is situated in the capital city of Bihar, on the bank of the holy Ganga. Bihar has a rich tradition of imparting education with Nalanda University. AIIMS Patna is providing practical, experience-based medical education. Our teaching programs prepare our students to become complete healers of society with the depth of knowledge and moral values necessary to serve in society.
AIIMS Patna is imparting undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing education and very soon we are starting graduation courses for paramedics also. Our educational programs offer a solid foundation of medical education and promise a hands-on learning experience. Additionally, students are encouraged to organize and participate in conferences and various student-driven activities organized on campus as well as in other institutions throughout the year. The new curriculum of MBBS is based on the AETCOM module of the National Medical Council. It has space for a foundation course, horizontal and vertical integration, elective posting, and innovative teaching methodologies. The curriculum has separate spaces for co-curricular activities and sports.
AIIMS Patna has the mandate to produce trained manpower for society. In the process of producing manpower, it utilizes services of world-class equipment and service at affordable cost. It serves society with the humanitarian way of imparting medical service. Faculties of the institutes are up-to-date with their knowledge and are research-oriented. Continuing medical education is an integral part of the academic atmosphere. Many conferences and workshops are organized on a regular basis. It has a sparkling green campus with infrastructure for imparting modern teaching as well as for co-curricular activities. A bright future is assured for teaching faculties as well as students.
